Insurance & Coverage Explained

Understand what's covered when you use Prezivio, how our platform protects both seniors and providers, and what insurance you may need.

โ„น๏ธ
Prezivio is a technology platform, not an insurance provider. This page explains platform protections and third-party coverage options.
What Prezivio Covers

As a platform, Prezivio provides certain built-in protections for both seniors and caregivers on every service.

In-Home Care Incidents

Prezivio does not carry general liability insurance for in-home care incidents. Providers are encouraged to carry personal liability coverage. Seniors may wish to verify their homeowner's policy.

Medical / Health Insurance

Prezivio services are generally not reimbursable through Medicare, Medicaid, or private health insurance as we are a private-pay platform. Some long-term care insurance policies may cover services.

๐Ÿ’ก Can Insurance Pay for Prezivio?

Most standard health insurance plans (including Medicare and Medicaid) do not cover private-pay companion care. However, Long-Term Care Insurance (LTCI) policies sometimes cover these services. Check with your insurer or insurance agent.

๐Ÿฆ HSA / FSA Eligible?

Some Prezivio services may be eligible for payment using Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds โ€” particularly medication management and personal care. Consult your HSA/FSA administrator for eligibility.

๐Ÿค Veteran Benefits

Veterans may be eligible for non-medical home care through the VA Aid & Attendance benefit. If you are a veteran or surviving spouse, contact the VA or a VSO to determine eligibility for in-home care assistance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about insurance, billing, and coverage.

Does Medicare cover Prezivio services? โ–ผ
In most cases, Medicare does not cover Prezivio companion care or personal care services because Medicare primarily covers medically necessary services prescribed by a doctor. However, Medicare Advantage plans vary, so check your specific plan. Prezivio does not bill Medicare directly.
What if there's a billing dispute? โ–ผ
Contact our support team within 14 days of your service date. We will review GPS logs, service records, and provider notes to resolve any billing discrepancy fairly. Reach us at support@preziviohealth.com or (410) 375-9627.
Are providers covered if something goes wrong during a service? โ–ผ
Providers are independent contractors and are responsible for their own liability. We strongly encourage providers to carry personal liability insurance. Prezivio verifies auto insurance for transport providers but does not carry blanket liability coverage for in-home incidents.
Can I use my long-term care insurance with Prezivio? โ–ผ
Possibly. Many long-term care insurance policies cover "non-medical home care" which can include personal care, companion care, and housekeeping services. You would typically pay Prezivio directly and then submit receipts to your insurer for reimbursement. Check your policy terms or contact your insurer.
Is there a cancellation fee? โ–ผ
There is no cancellation fee if you cancel your service request more than 1 hour before the scheduled start time. Cancellations within 1 hour of start time may incur a small fee at our discretion to compensate the provider for travel and time preparation.
